What people are saying:

Your place is my venue of choice when the question is, “where should we go?” and here is why: 1) It is not pretentious, stuck-up, snobby, or takes itself seriously in any way; 2) Maintains a balanced sense of arts and culture in Winnipeg, without going down the path described in (1) that most places have; 3) Food is reasonably priced. And considering the quality, is downright cheap; 4) I can eat there (gluten-free options), and peanut allergy people can relax and eat there too, as can those avoiding dairy, like vegans; it truly is amazing how accessible your menu is.; 5) Open late; 6) On several good bus routes, and if not taking a bus, the parking options are reasonable. I could go on, but I’m sensing your ego might just explode. You and Candace have done an amazing job. Your place is EXACTLY the kind of place that Winnipeg needed. - Helen Konrad, Wolseley

Until webmaster Sherman updates our menu system, this is where you can find some of our retired/defunct/on hiatus series. In the beginning, we did something called It Came from the Vault. It was a film series that may or may not come back. Maybe if everyone throws their Blu-rays and plasma TVs away. Our first reading series was a themed series by the name of Free Your Mind. This was our first collaboration with several writers who have since become great friends of Aqua, including Susie Moloney, Laurie Block, Anita Daher and Sarah Klassen. Sometimes a great series comes along that we can't say no to. In Conversation with Ron Robinson was one of these. Ron is a former CBC Radio heavyweight, and co-founder of McNally Robinson Booksellers. Unfortunately, Ron is very busy and is taking some time off from the series. Hopefully it will return when his schedule permits. Mary Louise Chown and her stable of storytellers are also taking a bit of a break. Magic of One Storytelling Concerts were happening four times a year or so. And last but not least, every year we have a Fringe show (or two) as part of the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival. Past events for currently-running series can be found via the grey links on the menu above.
